The World Needs Your Light
Have you ever held back your joy or enthusiasm because you were afraid of standing out? It can feel scary to be the only one “lit up” in a room full of people who are stressed or unhappy. We often dim our own light so others don’t feel uncomfortable.
But imagine a different world. Imagine if we all decided to light up just a little bit more. If everyone shined their brightest, then no single person would stand out awkwardly. Instead, we would all be brilliant together. When we all stand up and shine, we create a world where brilliance is normal, accepted, and celebrated.
The Future of Spirituality
Here is a bold thought: hopefully, in the future, “spirituality” won’t exist anymore.
Right now, we use spirituality as an antidote. It is medicine we take because we have constricted our flow and forgotten who we are. We label some people as “spiritual” and others as “not spiritual.” Some people think it is all just “woo-woo” nonsense, while others think it is the only way to live.
However, once you move from a tight, stressed state into an expanded, happy state, you realize that spirituality is actually just life. It is just creation. In the future, we won’t need to talk about being “conscious” versus “unconscious.” We will just be living life fully. We want to reach a point where being in tune with yourself is so normal that we don’t even need a word for it.
Be a Whistleblower by Radiating
Until we get there, the world needs you to shine. Do not be afraid of it.
Shining is actually the best way to be a “whistleblower” on the ignorance and unhappiness of the world. You don’t even have to speak up or argue with people. You don’t need a megaphone. You can keep quiet if you want to.
By simply radiating happiness and peace, you say more than words ever could. You are showing people that they have a choice. You are proving that it is possible to be happy no matter what is happening around you.
Everything in life is just a configuration of molecules—it’s just energy. We get to choose how we interpret those molecules. We can choose how we wish to feel and how we wish to perceive this very moment. When you embody this choice, you show others that they have that power, too.
The Trap of “I Want It Now”
When we decide to shine and create a better life, we often want the results immediately. We want instant manifestation. But there is a trap here.
When you scream, “I want that thing now!”, you are really telling the universe, “I don’t have it.” You are focusing on the lack of it.
Instead of trying to skip to the finish line, try to appreciate the learning curve. Think of your life like a really good book. If you are reading a mystery novel, would you want to rip out the middle 100 pages just to get to the end? If you did that, the ending wouldn’t make sense. You would have no context. The story isn’t interesting anymore if you skip the scenes where the character grows.
How to Actually Speed Up
You cannot skip ahead of your own theme, but you can learn faster.
The more conscious and aware you are, the faster you learn. A person who is asleep at the wheel might take ten years to learn a life lesson. A person who is awake and paying attention might learn that same lesson in two days.
This is true acceleration. It isn’t about skipping steps; it’s about extracting the wisdom from every single second. When a challenge shows up, don’t ask, “Why is this happening to me?” Instead, ask, “What does this reflect in me? What is this teaching me right now?”
When you do this, you become efficient. You start to manifest the life you want quickly, not because you cheated the system, but because you learned the lesson the first time.
So, shine anyway. Be happy regardless of what is happening. Recreate the moment. The world is waiting for you to light up so that, eventually, we can all shine together.
Quote:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”
— Marianne Williamson
Spiritual Reference:
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”
— Matthew 5:14-15 (NIV)
Summary:
The Trap of Impatience: Wishing for “instant” results often keeps us stuck because it focuses on what is missing. True speed comes from learning the lessons of the present moment efficiently, not by skipping ahead.
Collective Brilliance: If we all allow ourselves to shine fully, no one will feel awkward or out of place. We create a world where brilliance is the new normal.
Spirituality is Just Life: The goal of spiritual practice is to get back to a natural state of flow. Eventually, we won’t need the label “spiritual” because living consciously will just be how we live.
Radiating is Powerful: You don’t need to preach to change the world. By simply radiating happiness and peace, you show others that they have the power to choose their own state of being.
A simple practice to shine anyway
Today, try this small practice:
- Pause and feel your center.
Place a hand on your heart. Take three slow breaths. Notice that there is a calm space inside you that is not in a hurry. - Choose your state first.
Before reacting to what is happening, ask: “How do I want to feel in this moment?” Choose a quality like calm, joy, or clarity. Let your body relax into that choice. - Let your presence be the message.
As you move through your day, imagine your whole body quietly radiating that chosen state. No one needs to know what you are doing. Just let your being speak for you.
